OVERTHINKER SERIES

PUBLICATION 1 CHAPTER 3

PATIENCE

Welcome to another chapter of the over-thinker series.

This is Publication 1 Chapter 3 and we are going to be talking about patience and the need for it. As an overthinker, I can be a very impatient person. Throughout my childhood, I showed signs of impatience and though I would get warnings about it, my reaction to certain situations would be to act fast or miss out. Almost all the time I would miss out because that is what impatience does, you miss out almost every time.

Today’s topic is patience because this is something that is plaguing our generation today and that is why even where and when we are not realising it, we are missing out on life due to the fear of missing out, how ironic.

Society’s impatience is not always plagued by overthinking but by the new reality of the need to be fast and to do everything at once. This mindset prevents us from truly becoming masters of our lives because we are so quick to change lanes and to what others are doing. We fear humiliation but we humiliate ourselves in the long run, we fear being left behind but we are always one step back. We need to open our eyes to the realities of a fast-paced life and a fast-paced mindset.

Choose to enjoy the process and choose to take it one step at a time. Is it healing, is it relationships, is it career choices, is it motivation, is it discipline, is it achievement? We hear the adage that Rome wasn’t built in a day but I don’t think we realize what is really meant by that, we are not talking few years but decades. So what do we do with the time in between, we make mistakes, we learn and we grow but mind you, we don’t make stupid mistakes but we learn to fail forward and try everything not for the outcome but for the knowledge and the process.

So, until we see again. Remember, you are never alone.
