NEW BEGINNINGS

To all my freshers, we all know that first year is when we are the richest. After spending so much on initial registration, I don’t know why I did not really cook. My spot became Ziddy’s for afternoon food cause I ate okpa and zobo in the morning and went to bed either on indomie, suya or snacks.
After I found out that they sell suya in school, my life changed and I went there almost every night because I love suya. School became my favourite place. I had good roommates- shout out to Sochi and Bem Bem as I fondly call them. They both made first memorable and fun. Though we were all first years, we did not even act like it.

Nothing of mine was stolen as my sister did not predict but my first experience in night class almost made my heart drop. Bem Bem for some reasons best known to her and one faithful evening, she decided to invite me and Sochi and we gladly accepted. The back pain and our hefty eyes made us re-think our choices. I held on for dear life to my phone as night class was a popular place people’s phones got stolen if you loose guard and forget where you are.

All in all, the experience in first year remains on of the best experiences. There were nights we shared our beds with our friends, I remember Sochi waking me up just to hold my lips so that I would not shout because sharing beds was not allowed and a knock on the door in the middle of the night only gave room for danger.
Other times we had to switch identity as legal occupants just to protect our friends and other times, it was a tug of war to get Bem Bem to throw away the dirt. I swept and Sochi mopped, we bought a carpet and installed curtains. We were three different ladies with different backgrounds that became family because of our journey.
